Privacy Policy

Effective August 23, 2026

Thoth is designed to help you capture and recall personal context. This policy explains what information the Android app processes, why it is needed and the choices available to you.

Information we process

How information is used

We use this information to authenticate you, provide memory and AI features, enforce plan limits, restore subscriptions, improve reliability, understand feature usage, prevent abuse and—on the Free plan—show advertising.

Local and cloud processing

Memories and conversations are stored on your device. Relevant content is sent to the Thoth backend when needed to generate a response. Account, entitlement and aggregate usage records are stored with Firebase. Device backup is disabled for Thoth.

Service providers

Thoth uses Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Analytics, Crashlytics and App Check), Google AdMob and its consent platform, Google Play Billing, and OpenRouter for managed AI inference. Information is shared with these providers only as needed to operate the service. AI routing is configured to prefer providers that do not collect request data when that option is supported.

Advertising and analytics choices

Free accounts may see ads. Where required, Thoth asks for consent before requesting ads or related storage. You can review advertising privacy choices from Settings. Android settings also let you manage your advertising ID and app permissions. Pro accounts do not display ads.

Retention and deletion

On-device content remains until you delete it, clear app data or delete your account in the app. Account deletion removes your Firebase account, user profile and user-linked cloud usage records. Non-identifying aggregate operational totals may remain. You can also use the web account deletion flow.

Security

Thoth uses authenticated Firebase services, server-side AI credentials, restricted database rules and transport encryption. No service can guarantee absolute security, but access is limited and reviewed according to the purpose described here.

Children

Thoth is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum digital-consent age in their country. We do not knowingly collect information from children below that age.

Changes and contact

Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date. For privacy questions or deletion support, open a request through the Thoth support tracker.
